Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints Live blog for preseason

Football is finally back Marqise Lee Jerseys 2019 , as tonight the “Kings of the South” from the AFC & NFC in 2017, meet to open their respective preseasons with Jacksonville Jaguars hosting the New Orleans Saints. While the starters from both teams likely won’t see the field much, if at all, it’s still Jaguars football under the lights against someone not in teal, black, and white for the first time in 2018.Follow along with us tonight with live updates right here as the night unfolds, and hang around for post-game recaps and analysis following the final snap.Looking for a way to catch the game on TV, Stream, or radio? We have you covered here!Live Blog9:52 PM: It appears Lee was just short of the first down at first glance on a 4th & 6 and staring at the last gasp for the Jags tonight. Play is under review, and is upheld. Game over. Jaguars drop the preseason opener 24-20, though it was a truly dominant night for 3 1鈦? quarters for the Jaguars. Keep it on Big Cat Country for post-game wrap ups and analysis from the gang. Thanks for following along tonight!9:40 PM: Saints take the lead as the running back Williams walks in clean up the middle of the Jags defense. The tackling in the 4th quarter by the Jaguars has been atrocious. Saints lead 24-20, up to Tanner Lee to do something.9:35 PM: Tanner Lee gets the ball knocked out of his hands and the Saints recover for the first turnover of the game at 4:32 left to play. Tackle Brandon Smith was beat around the edge and Lee had the ball cleanly knocked out by the Saints end...A couple of missed tackles by the Jaguars defense, now has the Saints inside the 10 looking to pull ahead for their first lead with under 3 minutes left.9:23 PM: Hill takes advantage of an inexperienced secondary and linebacker group, as he uses his legs to break off a long run inside the Jags 10, then caps it with another bootleg into the end zone. The Jaguars rookie corners are having a better second half, CJ Reavis has made a couple plays this drive Black Abry Jones Jerseys , and Quinton Meeks has shown up a time or two. Those two plays were not great, however. 20-17 Jaguars.9:10 PM: Tanner Lee enters the game to take over the Jaguars drive, and procedes to take two sacks in a row. Anyways, here’s the aforementioned Kessler to Orndoff TD.9:06 PM: Shane Wynn makes another play, this time a 24-yard reception on a broken play from Kessler to end the 3rd quarter,9:00 PM: Rashad Greene Sr. muffs the punt but recovers his own fumble, following another good defensive drive by the Jags back ups. Greene has looked good at catching the ball from the receiver spot in camp, but his hands on fielding punts have been an issue all summer. 8:55 PM: TOUCHDOWN JAGUARS! Kessler finds tight end Scott “Dont Call Me Paul” Orndoff in the flat, and Orndoff did the rest, running around a defender and breaking the pile on with a lunging TD. Lambo makes it 20-10 Jags.8:48 PM: Jaguars are on the move, as it’s become the “Shane Wynn Show” this drive. Wynn has caught 3 passes for what I believe is about 25 yards, and just ran a reverse on 2nd & short for a good gain and another first down. All this dude does is make plays! Jags deep in Saints territory, again.8:40 PM: Jaguars defense comes up in true “Sacksonville”-style, with back to back sacks of Hill by Tyler Patmon and Lerente McCray respectively, following the Saints going for it on 4th & 5. Jaguars take over from around midfield.8:35 PM: Saints starting with the ball and rookie Taysum Hill now in at quarterback for the Saints, and driving into Jags territory.8:35 PM: We’e back underway for the second-half. Here’s Cody Kessler’s night thus far.Halftime Thoughts:Blake and the first team offense looked as perfect as you could ask for Game 1.Same for first team defense Abry Jones Jerseys 2019 , who allowed a field goal due to shoddy kick coverage.Second-team corners left a lot to be desired.Leon Jacobs & Ronnie Harrison looked the part so far.Special teams coverage teams not off to a great start.8:20 PM: Offense can’t do anything with the ball, as drive ends with our first look at rookie punter Logan Cooke, who blasts the kick deep into Saints territory and sees a great play made by DJ Chark on special teams, as he tackled the return man for no gain to end the half.8:15 PM: Jaguars back up defense holds and we see our first punt of the night fielded by Mickens who had to lunge to protect the ball on the fair catch. Let’s see if Jags offense can do anything with :46 left.8:10 PM: First dinged up player report of the night is not great for the LB depth.8:03 PM: Efficient drive for Kessler, with help from a nice catch & run from Corey Grant, leads to another Lambomatic kick again from 49 yards out. Jags lead 13-10. The Jaguars QBs have been smart and efficient tonight and it’s led to scoring drives on each possession.7:52 PM: Saints get a TD with a majority of their offensive starters still in the game and the Jaguars fielding all 2nd and 3rd team guys, as Mark Ingram runs it in from 3 yards out. 10-10.7:49 PM: Jags get them off the field, but dumb penalty by linebacker Donald Payne extends the drive. Not good for a player on the bubble this preseason.7:42 PM: Josh Lambo is automatic, we lead 10-3 beginning the 2nd quarter.7:40 PM: Had some technical difficulties but we are live now! If you missed it, BOAT sailed into the end zone for the first drive of 2018.6:08 PM:First time the new uniforms are in action and...yes.600 PM: Update on Keelan Cole and why he’s OUT tonight. Was weird that he didn’t dress out after practicing all camp thus far. Sounds like the team is being extra cautious, as they should be.5:40 PM: Some early news on the replacements for those players sitting out tonight.5:35 PM: As expected, a healthy list of game time scratches tonight for the Jaguars.1:20 PM: Starters or no starters, it’s a TEAL NIGHT at The Bank!1:10 PM: Happy Game Day, folks! We still do not know how many of the starters will dress tonight, let alone how many snaps they’ll take if they do. But according to 1010XL’s Tyler Devitte, don’t expect to see any of the big names on defense tonight. As we get into our countdown to kick off and await the status of which players will take the field Black Corey Grant Jerseys , take some time to check out our coverage leading up to tonight’s exhibition.Filip Prus gives match ups to watch, a rundown of key story lines, and his prediction for the game.Alfie speaks on how much different, (read: BETTER), the feeling of the fan base is heading into 2018’s preseason opener versus this time last year. Our Ryan O’Bleness sat down with the folks from Canal Street Chronicles for some Q&A on the Saints perspective for what to watch for on the opposing sideline tonight. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette was arrested Thursday for driving with a suspended license and released a short time later.Fournette paid a $1,508 bond and was freed after spending less than 30 minutes in the Duval County Jail, according to jail records.Fournette was pulled over after a Jacksonville Sheriff’s deputy clocked him driving 65 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to the police report. Fournette was cited for speeding and for having illegal tint on his SUV. He was arrested for the suspended license. The arresting officer recalled pulling Fournette over last July for driving 80 mph in a 45 mph zone, the report said. The officer issued Fournette a written warning for reckless driving — he was allegedly weaving in and out of traffic — not having his driver’s license and having illegal tint on a different car.Fournette’s license was suspended last month after he failed to pay or protest a speeding ticket from November 2018, court records show. Fournette was cited in nearby Neptune Beach for driving 37 mph in a 25 mph zone. The Jaguars said in a statement they “are aware of the situation involving Leonard Fournette and are continuing to gather more information. No further comment will be provided at this time.”The arrest is the latest issue for Fournette , the fourth overall pick in the 2017 draft who was injured, suspended and on the bench in crunch time last season. He also was fined, criticized and admittedly not in ideal shape late in the year. Most telling, the Jaguars voided the remaining guarantees in Fournette’s four-year rookie contract worth $27.1 million. The team made the move following Fournette’s weeklong suspension in late November for instigating a fight in Buffalo.Fournette has challenged the decision, which could cost him up to $7.1 million. The one-week suspension already cost him nearly $100 Corey Grant Jerseys 2019 ,000 in salary.Fournette also drew the team’s ire when he and fellow running back T.J. Yeldon spent most of the season finale — a 20-3 loss at Houston — on the bench and disengaged from coaches and teammates.Personnel chief Tom Coughlin ripped both players for being “disrespectful” and “selfish.”Fournette had a lengthy meeting with Coughlin and coach Doug Marrone after the season in hopes of clearing the air and staring anew.“I have full confidence in him,” Coughlin said last month. “He does have some things he’s got to prove when he comes back about his preparation, but he’s a young, young player. He loves football, had an outstanding year, had a very disappointing year. We want him to be a great player and I think he’s in the same mindset.”Fournette has missed 11 games in two seasons because of injuries and suspensions. The former LSU star ran for 439 yards and five touchdowns in eight games last season after running for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie.Fournette had been working out in Wyoming with LSU’s former LSU strength and conditioning coordinator. He likely returned to Jacksonville in time for the team’s offseason conditioning program, which begins Monday. The Jags have revamped their running backs room in hopes of helping Fournette. They fired position coach Tyrone Wheatley , released running back Carlos Hyde and let Yeldon and Corey Grant leave in free agency. They hired 64-year-old Terry Robiskie, who, like Fournette, was born and raised in New Orleans and attended LSU, as running backs coach. They also signed veteran Alfred Blue (another LSU alum) to be Fournette’s backup.
