Tom is a professional counselor and psychotherapist practicing at the Wellspring Counseling Center in Roswell, Georgia. He also has an office in Dawsonville, Georgia.
He has extensive training and experience with individuals, couples, families and teens. He has a special interest in human interactions regarding sexuality.
He has completed all the training and supervision to become a Certified Sex therapist with the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) the only national certification body for sex therapy. This is not to be confused with the field of sex addiction. Tom’s work is focused on the positive range of sexual interactions.
He has worked with persons who have endured/survived extreme trauma – including being a mental health professional deployed to New York City immediately after 911. He is also a Presbyterian Minister though he states he “carries his collar in his back pocket”.
Prior to being a full time psychotherapist he was the State Director of the Association for Retarded Citizens (The ARC/Network), and before that he was Director of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse for Cobb/Douglas (1/4 of Metro Atlanta) Counties.
He has his Master’s (M.Div.) Degree in Counseling from Southern in Louisville, Kentucky and achieved his undergraduate degree in Education from GardnerWebb College in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
Tom was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina.
